Various “rumours” are linked to the mountain village of Morna, whose name means “a dark place” from the Turkish word morno (dark). The State Wood Processing Factory operated there until 1967, giving life to the area in the 1950s and 1960s. After its closure, the inhabitants left the village and moved lower, to a place they named “Fotina” (Light). In the last census of 2011, the village numbered one inhabitant.
The road from Fotina to the traditional Skotina (Dark) settlement is a dirt road and passes through verdant slopes.
